How much do FEOs and Firearms Branch staff typically earn - anyone know?

Can't be much, given their "motivation"...

My FEO is great. He arranges visits to fit in with the customer and not the other way round. Need an evening visit, you get an evening visit. If you send in forms to the HQ and he has not contacted you within a couple of days, means the forms have got lost. He provides an excellent service.

Sounds a bit harsh! Why the query, you sound a bit hacked off?!

I've had a few FEOs over the years and all of them have been absolutely straight with me.

My FEO's are spot on and always keen to help. The licensing did wobble briefly when beds and Herts merged however they were back on track very quickly. These days we deal with them both as FAC holders and as RFDs so slightly different teams in theory however I usually just talk to the Senior FEO.

I remember seein the role advertised a few years ago, if I remember correctly, around £23K a year.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Quite fancy it myself, when I'm out. Killer wage-drop though. :(

Whenever I have seen the job advertised, it has always stipulated that you need your own car. That eats into your costs, no matter how much they pay per mile.

I actually found a few FEO job adverts over the last couple of weeks. Got them saved at work - will find somewhere to upload them and then I'll post them on here.

Ranged between £15k and £24k or so. Surprisingly poorly paid given the powers and responsibilities at play.
