And to add to that last, the NRA did charge for a number of services it had to provide as a result. The charges did not meet the cost of the extra staff that had to be taken on to do the work, and it certainly didn't give any recompence to the trustees who, with the very welcome aid of Col Bowles, argued long and carefully to get the limits and restrictions to a point where our sport could continue. Also my work to redesign the sport so as to stay in the original limits (I was NRA TR Rep at the time) was never needed so sits quietly in a folder on this computer against the possibility that it might be required in the future.
