I did do a bit of damage to it but i'm never going to use it again so i wasn't bothered

How did you hold the receiver, or did you hold the barrel?

Or another version.

And another.

If you want to minimise the damage to the pin holes on the nut you can use a brass/alloy drift (punch) instead of a steel one.
Any of those may well do the job, but I doubt I'd ever need to use it again after this, so not much point buying one especially. I'm going to opt for the same method Blackstuff went for with a hammer and punch.

For sale, one SGC barrel nut. Slightly used condition. 25 quid inc. P&P ;)

Took a fair bit of effort, but with the help of a mate it came off eventually. We used the AR tool with one pin in and the other two pins resting against the outside of the barrel nut.

Very pleased with the Samson Evo handguard too. As always, thanks for the help everyone. :good:

I didn't bother because it kinda looks like every other Samson Evo rail, but as you asked so nicely...

Well maybe. But don't forget that most on here have rifles made from dead trees. So its your duty to show them what thery are missing.

Looking good. :goodjob:
