Looking at the picture on his site I think it looks very handsome:

Note: I don't know anything about the Australian shooting scene so can't comment on how good this dealer is, he certainly has an amusing set rules about contacting him
That is a cracking looking rifle. I note RPG do not ship outside of AUS however that is not a problem as the rifles are still very easily sourced.

That's not a bad price at all, assuming they're better than an original PU sniper and assuming we wouldn't end up paying half again in the UK, as usually seems to be the case.
They do look very smart too

They are GBP615 ish in AUS, I assume this includes GST at 10%, add shipping and VAT and they are going to be approaching GBP875.00 over here. The alternative is a UK sourced 91/30 sniper with original barrel 'as seen' for GBP650 upwards.

It is really down to individual choice.

Which takes me back to my earlier point Ovenpaa, importation! Molot had them on their stand at the 2013 Russian Arms and hunting exhibition (found the link see pics below). I am sure I read somewhere that they have been recently purchased by Izmash (or whatever they are called now). Doesn't FSU connections have a deal with Izmash or can you bypass them and strike your own deal with the Molot branch of the company. I have a brother who can speak fluent Russian and an RFD friend who wants to start importing interesting stuff I see no real problems as long as it doesn't tread on toes.

Here is the show pics and a link to thread on the other website, some interesting stuff to look at there!

I can see the 91/30 below in this pic above the SVT causing some to twitch a bit as it is clearly dressed to look more authentic/refurbished rather then re-manufactured but as long as they don't lie about its origin I see no fault per say.

Original thread, thanks to whomever Vitaly V Kuzmin is! You have taken some superb pictures! Anyone fancy a Russian AR-15

They are there, they are UK legal so they can be imported as long as they are not from a restricted country, you have an OIL (Open Import Licence) There are a couple of other things to consider however it is very easy once you get your head around the process. Your friend who is looking at this will probably already know about such things.

For context Ryton Arms were selling cosmolene covered ones straight out of crates for £160. I tested mine (ex sniper with plugs in the receiver) to be sure that it was accurate then sourced a PU scope and had it fitted. Total cost was below the figure that you quoted for the Molot. I've kept the finish original with Soviet shellac however it would be fairly straightforward to refurbish it if you wanted the laminated grain look.

I understand totally that you want one ready done with a warranty etc but for me part of the fun was sourcing all of the parts and getting it built how I wanted it.
The above post probably contains sarcasm or some other form of attempted wit, please don't take it to heart.
