Range mats.....what do you use?
I'm in the market for a range mat, do I need an all singing all dancing posh one or will a foam sleeping mat thingy suffice?.Price wise the foam mats winning me over but are they up to the job?.

I have a AiM mat, best thing on the market in my opinion.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

Depends on where you shoot a bit. Grass, gravel or fields. If you're an all season shooter get waterproof!!! Nothing worse than lying with your b*******s in a pool of water!

+1 to that I used to use off cuts of carpet, underlay and sleeping bag rolls, one wet shoot too many and I bought a water proof mat

One of these

Only reason I went for it over the rolling matts was because the way it folds it keeps the muddy side from touching the clean side.
