The document was reviewed and commented by several of the national bodies (and there are discussions ongoing as to some aspects). The bits we didn't see before publication were the foreword and the FAQs.

I am sick and tired of this bending over regarding the price of our certs and the way the local police forces are making the rules up as they go along. If we made the rules up as we saw fit we would be in jail ****

Overhaul the whole system, streamline it, it would then cost a lot less to run.

It does not exactly need a big IQ to figure that one out.
You're my sort of woman Christel- I agree totally.
As regards any mention of full recovery of costs, well lets see that with everything that is licensed in the interests of fairness if that is ever introduced.

Seems simple to me tbqh, so few people vote in PCC elections that all 35,000 shooters voting for his rival candidate next time round will have him out of a job. According to Wikipedia, in the election for the PCC for Warwickshire in 2012, the turnout was 64,289. Seems to be one of the few elections in which shooters may actually have a voice.

In actual fact the whole issue of future rise in certificate fees is under review in the near future with all interested parties including the Home Office and shooting organisations taking part. It has been estimated that this will take about two years. If shooters follow the information put out by their shooting organisations they will be aware of this.

How do we make this esteemed functionary understand that the shooter doesn't benefit from the licence, the general public do, thus they ought to bear the costs...
you need one of those for every gun or you apply for a license for lets say 5 or 10 or 20?

So those antis in various organisations don't want to use a stupid price rise to price people out of the sport???

They can want all they like but it doesn't mean they will get their way.
