Just back from holiday and my fac renewal is back from Police Scotland, everything that I requested with the exception of my additional 7.62x39 slot, I had requested the action as MARS - Manually Actuated Release System on my application but it has came back as "rifle bolt action"
Has anyone else been granted this system or had any problems getting it?
Does your force stipulate an action on the variation? Even crappy West Yorks doesn't , in fact - no need to specify the cartridge either - merely the cailber.
This is what we get I supposed with 40 odd police forces in the UK, 40 odd differing interpretations of the law :-(
Yeah your right, however Scott stipulated that the fac must state MARS before any sale, but I want to check whether others have had this action authorised.
Checked with my feo mine says 7.62 x 39 rifle so I'd be able to buy one on my ticket specifying the action over complicates it. My lever release was just 9mm rifle so i think stipulating it must say mars is a bit daft.
That's only because you have a sensible firearms department!
Durham insist on exact chambering and action type, only exception was when I got my Handi Rifle, they couldn't find 300aac Blackout on their system, tried to give me all sorts or weird options but eventually gave in and just went for "300 calibre".
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)

So let me check this, my "7.62x39 rifle" authority to acquire isn't good enough for him? It must state "7.62x39 rifle (MARS action)" under my authorities to acquire?
I can see that confusing "quite a few" authorities (who don't specify action type) and hence costing him "one or two" sales....
I read somewhere that 7.62x39 M.A.R.S. or Rifle was to be specified on the FAC, on the other hand, there is no mention of system on the Caladonian Classic Arms Website. Have they fallen foul of the HO?
Edit: Should have read the previously posted ad more closely!
