In the SVDS it was truly awful and the 77 dated Novosibirsk Russian milsurp easily outshot it.I know there is a difference in weight (180gr for the Barnaul vs 150gr for the Novosibirsk) but I still expected better from the Barnaul. With 174gr Sellier&Bellot it will cloverleaf three rounds at 100m if I do my bit.leeroy7031 wrote:Their .223 62g isn't bad, about 1.5" at 100m which is ok for plinking, quite dirty as well.snayperskaya wrote:If Barnaul 223 is anything like their 54r I wouldn't bother.I tried some in the Dragunov and the group sizes were awful, far worse than Russian milsurp, to the point were I thought my scope was knackered.
Surely the Baurnal can't be any worse than the 74 milsurp I've been using. :cool2:

Give a man a gun and he can rob a bank.....give a man a bank and he can rob the world!.
More than a vested interest in 7.62x54r!

The gun was designed for the 7,62x39.
Whatever caliber, the Vz will never be a match rifle. As long as it hits body vital mass at 100/150 yards ?
Surplus 7,62 Vz58 mags are 10/a penny.
