Shameless plug, my new Photography site and Facebook page

#1 Post by huntervixen »

Afternoon all,

I know its not Firearm related but......

I have just launched a new website for my business www.bristowphotography.co.uk , the new site replaces a tired old one so is still under construction, plus a new Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/bristowphotographyoftetbury to go with it.

Please feel free to take a look and let me know what you think.....and "Like" our Facebook page if you would be so kind sign92

Have a great weekend, cheers, John

Looks good! The only bit I wasn't too keen on was this image at the bottom. I know it's nitpicking, but I guess that's critique you're after. It's just a bit OTT. The only other comment is fill your portrait and commercial categories ASAP, too many websites have "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" for far too long and it doesn't set the right tone IMO. I'd rather see a single image than that text.

Hope that helps.

Morning mate,

Many thanks indeed for the feedback, it really is appreciated and always good to get a fresh perspective on any project/business endeavour.... the new site has the "feel" of the old one, but migrated over to a new, up to date site that works with mobile devices.

In order to preserve what's been a successful brand, the winged cherub has been retained, as its part of our established identity (Wedding photography is still the main driver), it also features on our premises and all our documentation......in fact, its stencilled over the inglenook fireplace at our office!

I know what you are saying regarding "under construction", I feel the same way, but this will be rectified in the coming week. We had a looming trade show that acted like the proverbial line in the sand and meant the new site had to be launched before it was fully ready....I hate going off half cocked, but life throws these curve balls at you and you just need to crack on!

Many thanks again for the feedback mate and have a great weekend,

Cheers John.

No worries. I'm redeveloping our shooting club's website, so I'm jumping through similar hoops at the moment. You might be able to help me... do you have any really good photos of a rifle at a range with all the paraphernalia lying around? I'm not looking for a free photo, just ideas on perspective, depth of field etc... so I could try and recreate a similar photo for the banner of the site. If you haven't got anything, no problem, just thought I'd ask.

Bare with me and I will take a look through the achieve, I do have some suitable images that you are welcome to use/replicate, I just need to go back in and find them.
Just started on a brand new all singing editing computer and I am transferring the achieve over, 6 core, 16gb of ram, insanely powerful graphics card and 4, 6gb hard drives, this thing knows what I want to do before I've even thought about it, its that quick!

If you have a club logo you would like resizing to a specific pixel size, adding to an image etc, or anything like that, happy to help, just pm me with the info.

Thanks for the offer and yes please, if you have anything that might spark some ideas it would be appreciated. We had a guest day at the club a few weeks ago and my guests went to town with their cameras, so I have a few interesting ones, but always looking for something better. Let me know if something turns up, but I should be OK on the photoshop front, touch wood!

The site's coming together, but it's hard work. Hours and hours and hours...
