David,
There were 2 Berden hydraulic deprimes made in UK time ago; The rustic Wamadet and the Prime.

The second was apure marvel, acting like an injection pump. I still have one here; but the O-rings are worn out

Wprked marvelously and I used it tp deprime the strongly crimped Lebels who resisted the Wamadet.

As an information: Berdan cases withstand much more pressure than the Boxer ones. Life is only reduced by anvil erosion.

I have a pile of Swiss GP11 brass and would love to reload it but, where do I find berdan primers in the UK at a reasonable cost?

I made up a de-capping tool, using a shank from a broken drill bit, inserted off-set into a coach bolt and it worked well. it just locates in one of the flash holes and you punch the primer out, no water, no mess!

I used a Lee chamfer tool with the end ground back to accept the case anvil, to remove any primer crimp.

All I am short of, is some berdan primers!

DantheMan wants these to make up inert ammo. Otherwise, put them in the bin!

Boxer LR are 5,33mm diameter. Berdan are 5,5mm.

The Lee tool should not have removed much of the Berdan case crimp?

Thanks Rog, please don't bin them, plus you will have fun trying to size steel cases.

Yes, you can convert the cases to boxer by crushing the anvil and drilling a new flash hole.

Robert, I know of the Prime however I have not even seen one let alone seen one in action.

The Prime is an awesome tool, it will decap a lot of cases using just a few ml of water. I still use mine to decap those boxer-primed .308 cases with the small flash-hole.

Sadly it looks like the Prime Hydro Punch is no longer made.
