The USA does not have the highest per-capita gun ownership in the world by a long way. Among the countries which have a peaceful reputation is Switzerland, where shooting is the national sport.

Youtube description has incorrect spelling of 'capital', so on that count, I'm inclined to think the man is talking s***.

This data (also from Wikipedia):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_c ... death_rate

seems to show that gun related murder in the USA is MASSIVELY higher than any other civilised country.

There are many countries that are worse than America but look at them:
Columbia: 27 per 100,000
El Salvador: 39
Honduras: 64
Jamaica: 39
Venezuela: 39

They do make America's 3.55 look small but compare 3.55 to the other first world nations:

Switzerland: 0.23
UK: 0.05
Sweden 0.19
New Zealand: 0.26
Japan: 0
Canada: 0.51
Belgium: 0.29

Of course USA is one of the few countries where self defence with a firearm is permitted AND the "threshold" law - lethal force permits the use of lethal force on those who enter your home.

I would love to know what proportion of the number of killings per 100,000 are justifiable / legal killings.
