FAC Question
This has probably been covered before, but advice would be welcome.
The page on my FAC where the dealer/person selling a firearm to me is full and all the boxes have been used.
I still have two more slots on my licence that I am able to buy a sound mod and a spare barrel but no room for the seller to write the details in.
Do I have to send off my FAC and get it re printed or can I just ask for an additional sheet for the seller to fill in the details of the sound mod or spare barrel.
Thanks @nd

Re: FAC Question
Ring your firearms department and see what they say, if you're lucky enough to have a decent one they will print you a new FAC with all the additions you currently have from RFDs put onto it and you can pick it up while dropping the old one off :)

The OP lives in North London and the FEOs are in the Earls Court area - not a 5 minute journey! AND they will not accept courier deliveries or personal attendance from what I understand - everything has to be by Royal Mail!

Re: FAC Question
The Met are pretty quick at the moment. My last variation was done in less than 2 weeks including them sending it back because I'd made a mistake.

Re: FAC Question
I agree, they are very efficient and their FEOs do visits on Saturday and Sunday too! The niggle is that you have to post the application, even if you are next door to ESB.knewmans wrote:The Met are pretty quick at the moment. Re: FAC Question
I think the first question over the telephone to the firearms department should be simply "do you mind if I simply staple a blank sheet onto my FAC and record the details there?".
I have had this ok'd by two police forces in the past. You are not changing the "permissions" in any way; you are just making space for a record - something that happens on many, many FACs anyway when people fill up the "ammunition" section!
The purchase details on the FAC are notified twice anyway - by seller and purchaser - and they are not reproduced when the FAC gets renewed.

I would ask for confirmation to be emailed through rather than rely on verbal replies.Rearlugs wrote:I think the first question over the telephone to the firearms department should be simply "do you mind if I simply staple a blank sheet onto my FAC and record the details there?".
