Mk4 Leupold. 3.5-10x40 is probably my absolute favourite, I have two rifles so kitted. But the Mk4 8-25x50 on another rifle is the dogs danglies....
As an aside, be been very impressed with Vortex, but never owned one.

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I think we have a couple of Hawke scopes on rimfire rifles and they work for me however I never shoot them beyond 40mnorwichyarn wrote:Mine is a Hawke, what do people think of them?

My M3 would be the second last scope I got rid of !Sim G wrote:Mk4 Leupold. 3.5-10x40 is probably my absolute favourite, I have two rifles so kitted. But the Mk4 8-25x50 on another rifle is the dogs danglies....

Loved the new vortex gen 2 but if you can't get one then it may as well be a unicorn turd !

My 4-16x50 mil single turn PMII has been with me longer than any other 'scope and is my absolute favourite. For optical clarity the Vikings 12x56 German built S&B is very special as it certainly gathers more light and may well end up on my Sako replacing the SAII at some point.tackb wrote:4-16x42 or 50 Schmidt and bender pm2 , best all round scope I own
Kahles are reasonable as well and I do like Pecar. I am not a fan of Nightforce despite running a 42XBR for many years, it is not as intuitive as my PMII and even at low magnification it struggled in low light.

I've always felt that Minox are under-rated although they seems to be getting more popular of late. Between us, my son and I have owned three Minox optics ... ... ...
Another German optic range often overlooked is Steiner - again very good indeed.

I really like my Vortex PST 2.5-10x44, it's light, good spread of magnification and the scope I'll be fitting to my bunny rifle when I get the chance.

For long range work my March 5-32x52 is very hard to beat.
For ETR to 300 yards I love my ACOG. The optics are superb and the ladder reticle is spot on.

I am with Alpha 1 my Kahles ZF95 10x which is on my SSG for a scope that may be 40 odd years old still like crystal and great build quality.
