Sako Optilock 34mm rings

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

Can anyone point me to a UK supplier of 34,0mm blued Sako Optilock rings and ideally a sizing chart as well please. I would like to fit a 34,0mm tube 56,0mm Objective 'scope to a Sako 75 and my chart of ring sizes only goes up to 30,0mm - I am guessing extra low will do the job however it would be good to confirm this. Plus all I can find are phosphated rings...

I am not certain Ovenpaa but I believe that they only make 34mm rings phosphated because that size scope is usually for professional use. Also the height range of those size rings offered is also limited, low being possibly the only height available.
Why don't you contact GMK and ask them and if you don't have an account with them get them ordered by a RFD who does for instance Shaun at optics warehouse who I know you are friendly with.

Chapuis, I have found a solution. Apel rings have exactly the same size spigot so they fit Optilock bases. The screws are not interchangeable so the Apel base to rings screw heads need to be reduced in diameter by 0,5mm Then it is just a matter of assembling the Optilock base to Apel ring. Unfortunately the Apel rings are slightly wider so they hang off the Optilock base by a small amount, it would be possible to slot the base slightly to enable the rings to sit flush with the end however I will not do this until I am absolutely happy with the new 'scope (Kahles K312)

Ah, they might be a tad lower than the Apel I have fitted, I will have a measure and get back to you.
