Due to the pending FAC dropping on the mat shortly I'm weighing up my options for the .308 slot.
Does anyone have any experience of this rifle? if so your findings would be most appreciated
Howa's are very underrated since in have had mine ( after owning an AW) I am more than impressed it does everything I want it to, as well as be good at hitting targets it shoots like a shooty thing
What is a Sapper? This versatile genius condenses the whole system of military engineering and all that is useful and practical. He is a man of all work of the Army and the public ready to do anything or go anywhere, in short, he is a Sapper.
I had one, a 1500 with the 20" heavy barrel in 308Win, nothing wrong with it (apart from a very tight chamber) and it shot decent groups. But, in terms of operation I find the Tikka better, much smoother bolt travel and a better trigger. Obviously the Tikka costs more but if I'm buying a rifle to keep then between the two it would be the Tikka.
As a side note, my friend just picked up a Howa in 308 this morning, usual package from Highland Outdoors but for some reason it came with a set of Nikko Sterling ring bases and not the usual Picatinny rail.
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)
Had Howa 1500 heavy barrel,24" laminated thumbhole stock, 308 for couple of years, faultless...very accurate, good trigger. Basically a kit rifle...have whatever you want....mix and match.
Came with abs case and scope mount. I also prefer the cartridge push feed system for target shooting.
Remember, that Howa made the Weatherby Rifles for years and others...
