Recommend me a 'scope

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

I am currently shooting my 22-250 with a fixed 10X SA2 which is superb glass with a fine reticle however I could do with something variable with a slightly higher magnification. I have a Kahles K312 here which is good however it is a huge lump to lug around so time to look for an alternative. It is going on a Sako 75 Varmint so needs to be European, ideally to 16X and a 30mm tube would be good.

It does not need to be new either, any suggestions for what to go for?

I was a died in the wool Leupold man. I recently attended the Leica Experience at Diggle. I will seriously look at Leica the next time I need a scope.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Dyed....

ETA: Though given your origins & the prevalence of sheep/ lack of eligible women there, then exhaustion leading to death may be normal for "Hexham dating" esp. with jealous shepherds & their windswept collie dogs lurking in the shadows.

Leica - but then SimG would not be surprised at me saying that.
The 2.4-16 × 56 Magnus is the best scope in its class.

No, doesn't surprise me at all! You know the best kept secret in shooting optics, "Leica scopes and binos are fantastic!" :good:

422 yards. 100 yard zero with a demonstrator rifle. Smashed a tennis ball with the second round. Their stuff works. Great quality. Spot on technology. And really comparably priced.
