After an uneventful night's stake out with my 22-250 waiting for something to show its nose I headed home with an unfired rifle. At home I stood it in a corner, and popped the bolt and magazine away only to hear one almighty crash as the rifle bounced off a concrete floor. I have no idea how it happened and worst still, there is a dedicated rifle rack right outside the armoury for just this reason. Humph! I now have a couple of scuffed drums to add to the used image it already has so I am off to confirm zero and tracking.
Not happy :(

What is a Sapper? This versatile genius condenses the whole system of military engineering and all that is useful and practical. He is a man of all work of the Army and the public ready to do anything or go anywhere, in short, he is a Sapper.

Well the good news is it shoots and tracks OK despite the scuffed drums and whilst I was there I stuffed a few 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips down the tunnel, they gave some good groups with 35 grains of H4895 behind them with a slightly longer than factory OAL. This equates to a rather sedate 3750fps which should do the job and given the accuracy I am inclined to leave things well alone now.
