I find hard to believe that those girls who look bearly past 16 have personal section 5 authorisations from the secatary of state !

Why ????
What does their age or gender have to do with it ?
Are you opposed to female cadets or junior soldiers shooting pistols too ?

Certainly not ! I always thought getting section 5 was near impossible unless a dealer, flim amouror etcbreacher wrote:joe wrote:I find hard to believe that those girls who look bearly past 16 have personal section 5 authorisations from the secatary of state !

They can shoot pistol a step forward. I would assume that section 5 authorisation is needed for the range not for the shooters. The pistols would be kept at the range, and not owned or kept at home by the individuals they would need 5 authorisation for that.

Thought most of them looked quite human. ...never spotted any in duffle coats with jars of honey & Made in Peru labels.joe wrote:I find hard to believe that those girls who look bearly past 16 have personal section 5 authorisations from the secatary of state !
Some normal brainwashing bo11ox though ...since pistols were banned in the UK...."
OR since the ban in England, Scotland & Wales = still legal in Isle of Mann & Northern Ireland.
Wonder how much the NRA spent building the lovely new secure range facilities?
(Compare that outlay to time/effort & financial outlay defending against the pistol ban in the first place)
It'd have been cheaper putting everyone up in a B&B once a month in either of the UK legal areas....even add in flights, etc.
They could also travel themselves for extra training....store their own guns, etc.

What about a S7/S5 personal FAC & access to regional Heritage Pistol ranges?
Silly me.....regional sites wouldn't have the right buzzword combination (NRA.....Bisley)
Overall NOT a move for the better, smoke & mirrors all round.

if the range had it, then surely anyone could join in?ordnance wrote:They can shoot pistol a step forward. I would assume that section 5 authorisation is needed for the range not for the shooters. I strongly suspect, as its not on for a 7.3 holder to handle someone elses 7.3 firearm and those are on section 5 RFD run sites that this will be no different, and thoise individuals will hold a section 5 type exemption very similar to the 7.3 but even with the section 5 exemption, I bet they don't keep them at home, it will probably be stored somewhere securely at bisley and run like the 7.3
When guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns

Can a visitor at a club shoot any of the clubs firearms, would that not include pistols if the club had section 5 authority.

No, the exceptions to the need for a certificate under S1 Firearms Act 68 apply only to rifles.ordnance wrote:bradaz11 wrote:if the range had it, then surely anyone could join in?ordnance wrote:They can shoot pistol a step forward. I think that's what happens.bradaz11 wrote:if the range had it, then surely anyone could join in?ordnance wrote:They can shoot pistol a step forward. I had a brief chat with a couple of the girls at Cheylesmore last Dec, when we we moved there from Melville for one of our club gallery shoots.
The GB pistol team had it booked from 1.30pm onwards and we were hanging around during lunch break after the 12.30 gong chatting and having a few xmas pies etc as a social as last club shoot before xmas, but were being shoo'd out by GB team officials and NRA as no unauthorised persons could be in vacinity of range with Sec5 firearms being brought up from NRA armoury. The girls were OK, the team officials were quite curt to be be frank and rubbed a few of our members up the wrong way quite quickly.
