You don't want to buy an illegal sword in Japan.

I worked with a guy who did. He got caught and had a very unpleasant time with the Japanese Police.

Seriously though... Swords have been used for political assassination in Japan.

Too much listening to Donald Trump...

Gun laws in Chicago are more relaxed than LA and New York; they have shall-issue concealed carry, guns don't need to be registered and there are none of the ridiculous featureless/bullet button/pistol grip nonsense that California has to put up with or magazine restrictions.

Last time I checked we weren't allowed semi-auto centrefire, concealed carry handguns or unlimited firearms without registering them over here. Or unlimited ammunition purchases whilst doing the weekly shop :)
Illnioise does have licensing of all owners for all firearms! No registration of firearms though
Ccw is also licensed ! Plod there will revoke you if behave badly as well

When I was in Chicago they wouldn't even let me handle any guns in the shop unless I could produce a FOID card. Walked into Bass Pro and shot my brother-in-law's guns with no problem though.

Indeed - as I stated. Buy as many as you want, no-one records what you have. Buy as much ammo, no issues. Conceal carry is shall-issue etc etc. Incredibly permissive compared to the UK.

Let's forget all those statistics, they are meaningless...Lies damn lies and statistics... America is only ever paraded on tele because there is an agenda at work. Lots of other countries have far worse records as has been mentioned but that does not fit the agenda. Remeber the current WEPOTUS and his then Attorney General are gun runners to the Mexican mafia and people HAVE been killed because of it. see operation Fast & Furious. They even arm terrorists who commit way more murders than the US ever sees but the gun control nutters seem oblivious to that wee aspect of their nonsense.. Same applies to the UK!

As Sim says, societies are different and always will be. Over here fully automatic AK's are illegal for the public to have......but someone used one to some effect on 1st January!

US/UK gun control is just an agenda for the weak minded control freaks who if truth be told, are way too unstable to be allowed guns ..and so they judge others like themselves.

Gun control is meaningless because it only affects the law abiding! Something is far wrong when criminal behaviour dictates what we can and and cannot do as law abiding people!
Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!

If you apply even the most basic scientific principles to the examination of gun control measures its plain to see to anyone who is willing to open their eyes that they have next to no effect. All you have to do is look at what the gun crime/murder rate was BEFORE the measures were brought in and look for a difference.

Without doing any research whatsoever I can confidently predict that the gun crime stats in Japan before their 1958 'ban' were as low as they are now/after the ban. Just as the UKs were before the '68, '88 and '97 firearms acts. teanews

It always makes me laugh/bang my head against a wall when anti-gun proponents smugly say "Well after the Dunblane/97 handgun ban, there's never been a school shooting in the UK". Uumm, well, there was never one before it either?! troutslapping
