Thank you for the confirmation, the shooting lobby (if there is one) and the community need to raise this issue when the cost of FAC's is raised.saddler wrote:YES

Only the police inside the stadium are an added cost; a way around this was more specialist steward roles.

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Good point. I've just built that in to my response to the current fees consultation.Geek wrote:Thank you for the confirmation, the shooting lobby (if there is one) and the community need to raise this issue when the cost of FAC's is raised.saddler wrote:YES

Savage? Some sheep around Hexham still shudder on hearing your surname.
Talking about dirty, hows the wife this week?
Re: Peter squires makes my blood boil !
Nope, neither can I.Pete wrote: I can't remember seeing a case where a sane club shooter used his firearm to rob a bank...................
I could however name an AWOL squaddie that used his issued SLR to rob two banks though, perhaps Squires will advocate getting rid of the Army as well on the same basis, even though that incident was a long time ago as well

The man is a loon. Sadly, loons listen to other loons.
Re: Peter squires makes my blood boil !
Fair point, everything is gossip and fake news, so people will fall over themselves for the latest scandal and move on two minutes later. He's jumping on a bandwagon the media happily provide for him. Sadly he spouts what he thinks the public want to hear, TBH do the public REALLY care? More to the point, why exactly is there NO concerted and united front (Rhetorical question?)The man is a loon. Sadly, loons listen to other loons.
The problem is down to:
1) The lack of presence of the various shooting bodies who collectively have failed the shooting fraternity.
2) The selfish "i'm alright jack" attitude of so called "purists" and other selfish gits who don't care that sooner or later THEIR pet discipline will be under the microscope. This clown Squires is an excellent example.
3) Research has shown that people in the shooting sports are generally better educated and more independent - something current governments don't like.
4) Various governemnts love to pander to minority groups and will happily use "fronts" to push an agenda and shape public opinion. fantasy organsiations like the GCN come to mind. The need to " do something" when often DOING NOTHING is a better option - and of course political dogma in a sick effort to get votes at any costs.
5) Shooters don't fight back at the lies put about by so called experts..
Let's face it, shooters are the wrong kind of minority.
PS: Middle aged guys are usually the ones who can AFFORD black guns.
Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!

Re: Peter squires makes my blood boil !
Lots of good points on this thread....it's worth baring in mind that your average criminal with illegal firearms does not go on shooting sprees....they seem to leave that to legally held fac holders who have slipped passed police scrutiny....I personally would like to see them put in the dock over Cumbria,Dunblane and Hungerford.....your run of the mill armed criminal usually targets specific people unless someone gets in the way....the police know this and play on it....we are on a sticky wicket and only the rise of ukip or similar power will ever help us..
When someone says "it's not about the money" you know what? it probably is all about money!
