Range Conducting Officers courses away from Bisley
I have been looking at the average age of my members and it occurred to me that may be its time to put some of the younger members through a Range Conducting Officers course. If we want the club to continue.
I know they do them at Bisley but that may as well be on another planet as far as we are concerned.
Has any of the Club Secretary' s out side of Bisley and preferably in the North East of England managed to run a Range Conducting officers course locally.

You can get them to come to you to teach the course should you have the facilities and numbers....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Thanks I will give them a bell on Monday it might be cost effective if may be a couple of local clubs shared the cost. I have no idea how much it costs so just gathering info at the moment.

We ran a course at our club a couple of weekends ago, I'll see if I can find out some details.

I'll PM you my club secretary's number, we ran a course a few weeks ago at Ponteland :)
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)
Re: Range Conducting Officers courses away from Bisley
I haven't shot at Ponteland for 30 years....!!! Happy days!
Actually it would have been happy days as well! H&K 91 and Browning Hi-Power, then...

My club is having similar issues, we're in the North West & want to get 3 or 4 people qualified but there seems to be little available outside of Bisley.
North East is probably easier for us to get to so if you should get anything organised we may be able to send a few extra people along to help offset the cost if you're interested.

We do have a regional RCO instructor in the NW, I went on the course organised by 101/Fulwood. If you want I can PM his email address, although it may be required to go through the NRA head office.
I suspect we could have 1-2 members who would be willing to do the course too and there will be more around the other NW clubs just waiting for an opportunity.

You want to try and get a Black Powder RCO course run outside of Bisley or Wedgnock, now that seems an impossibility. Such is our centralist shooting organisations interpretation of National.
Seems it makes far more sense to have half a dozen plus people make a journey than just have one person make a journey, remember we exist for the benefit of the national organisations rather than them existing for the benefit of us!
