So is the MoD RCO course still a two day course or a three day course?

At the moment it is a two day course.

The idea is that so few clubs shoot MOD so it would be better to have the training relative to the use the shooters need.

That makes no sense all of our shooting is done on MOD ranges and so are most of the people I know who shoot. There is no Bisley were I live.

The whole point of doing the RCO course is so we can use MOD ranges.

BOTH types of training will still be available - you will have a choice to do what suits your situation best! That makes prefect sense!!

Were do you get this idea that so few clubs shoot on MOD ranges were I live every body shoots on MOD ranges if you want to shoot past 100 yards its the only game in town.

Of course with the NRA's Bisley-centric view then very few people shoot on MoD ranges, however if you have a non Bisley centric view then most people use MoD ranges, isn't Bisley technically an MoD range?, regardless of the usual non national approach from our "national" organisations if the the MoD range course does be come three day then that will mean that for people outside of Bisley it will become more expensive and more difficult to organise RCO courses in places other than the remotely located Bisley.

I was always under the impression that Bisley was run under MOD range orders as the safety area was all MOD, but then I don't shoot as Bisley so probably wrong, I do however shoot all over the country on MOD ranges with 3 out of the 4 clubs that I shoot with
I think you will find that a large amount of MOD ranges around the country are in use each weekend by local clubs

The NRA range conducting officers course is two days I spoke to them this morning. I got some costs the biggest problem will be the venue I guess.

I suppose the venue will depend on how fussy the assessor is, as back in 2005 I attended an RCO course held in a large shed / barn, maybe a club house room or maybe a local pub function room will suffice
Or as in my case a members farm barn!!! our course was only 1 day back then, a full day admittedly, and there was 6 in attendance

We used a church hall for day 1 then the training room at Ponteland range for the indoor bits on day 2.
