I am thinking of replacing the Hawke 3-9x40 scope on my Swiss K31 for something with greater magnification and would welcome any opinions/recommendations.
I have been quite happy with the quality of my 3-9x40 Hawke Frontier for the price.
I have a budget of £200 and so far, I like the look of the Hawke Vantage 4-16x50 Model 14 260.
My long range shooting is out to 800 yards on military ranges knocking down fig 11's, so sub MOA performance optics is not essential.
Any comments on the above scope or viable alternatives would be most welcome.

Re: Budget scopes
Have a look on Fox firearms web site their scopes are in your price range and good value for the money. Do a search on the forum the subject has been discussed before.

Re: Budget scopes
Fox 8-32 x 56 will fit your bill for about £125
I have one on a 308 and shot out to 1000yds with it
The caliber was the problems I had not the scope
The only thing I will say is that the turrets are 7.5MOA per full rotation so you have to work on the half MOA hashes for the 2nd and fourth revolutions but you soon get used to it

Re: Budget scopes
Thanks for the replies, but I got a cracking deal from Uttings, for a 5-15x50 IR Hawke Endurance, which was reduced from £259 to £179.
