Dedicated AR Section

#1 Post by Zilberbak »

With all respect can we have a dedicated AR section with a Grumpy Old Men caveat as it is getting monotonous having posts shut down just because of someone's pretendy opinion. I notice we can have prolonged debate on which underlever but anything AR is usually cut short. Perhaps include AK derivatives as well.

Almost chucked the forum and migrated fully to UKV, but would miss some of the more enlightened contributions. You don't always need wood on a gun.

In a word, no.

I do not want this forum to cater to a specific discipline.

The posts that have been removed have all been contravening forum rules, nothing to do with breed of gun.

We all have a forum where we hang out more than on others, nothing wrong with that.

Perhaps the advantage of a separate section would that it could be moderated by someone a little less obviously unsympathetic to what he calls "pretendy" AR-15s. I have two black rifles and enjoy shooting them, although I also like my more traditional rifles like my Swing and K31, as well as the downright quirky in the form of my Mateba.

The forum header says "supporting all legal firearms owners, collectors and enthusiasts....promoting and encouraging legitimate gun ownership..." Making derogatory comments then locking the thread does not seem to me to live up to that claim, which I find very disappointing.
Careful now/that sort of thing

Seems a shame that people are simply told to use the search function when asking about AR15's, there are new innovations and suppliers coming online all the time but the threads just get locked or deleted. It would be good to keep up to date with developments in all areas of gun ownership and shooting not just wooden rifles.

Not wishing to fuel any sort of fire here but an AR section would be good for all of us who like and shoot these type of rifles.
These rifles are very popular now and getting more popular as time goes on as they are a modern well designed rifle with appeal.
I would put money on an AR section being very busy :good:
I'm getting a lot of information via PM from a few people regarding my 223 upper thread, information that I never new about so very helpful for an AR newbie like myself.
This info would make great reading to other AR shooters too. teanews
