Hi
I'm after getting my Pietta 1873 nickel plated. Can anyone recommend a plater that is used to dealing with firearms.
Also would I have to notify my FEO if sending my gun to get it plated.
Thanks
Jay

Re: Nickel plating
I would assume that the plater would need to be covered by an RFD ?
Re: Nickel plating
Try Poeton Plating.
https://www.poeton.co.uk/
I think they used to do 81mm mortar barrels, so they may have a facility to handle FAC items

Cheers. Has anyone had a go with the diy kits that are out there, any good?

Seriously Jay, don't go with a DIY kit for something as complex as a revolver. Great for a 1972 Suzuki GT500 front mud guard, but an 1873 SAA!
Or, just give one the kids a tin of spray paint, a mask and let them go to it!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
