Wording for collecting live ammunition

#1 Post by CDM5 »

I'm just putting in a variation and would like to add a provision for collecting live ammunition (to be made inert for display).

How should I go about wording it?

Thanks

"Dear Mr Plod,

We wishes to become an owd dudderer: to whit, we wish to be allowed to take dangerous live ammunition off the streets and thus from the grasp of chavs, knaves and other ne'er-do-wells, rendering it inert and displaying it as such as an object for admiration.

yours sincerely et cetera..."

You'll need to specify the calibre limits mine is 'Not to Exceed 20mm'
Then you need to state if you want to collect Section 1 Ball ammunition and the max amount.
If you want anything 'Naughty' some forces want the full legal description such as Sec 5 (aba) etc etc for your armour piercing / incendiary /exploding ammo. My force did that for half a page. Now some common sense has come in and it's 'Miscellaneous Ammunition' 200 rounds.

Talk to your FEO if they are really picky they'll want full legal description for rounds of ammo AND projecticles

Why would you want to make the cartridges inert? Surely having a live condition for collecting covers keeping the live ones and when the rarer cartridges are all de acted there will be no need for people to have a collecting condition.

Live cartridges need to be locked up. Inert cartridges can be displayed.
