Ranges closed again

I live in the Greater Manchester area, and my local open air range is at Bolton.
Following the latest rise in coronavirus infections the range was closed, I attended together with others on Sunday only to find two mounted Police officers who stated that the range was closed until further notice and that we were to disperse.
From all accounts and from news reports I think we will be lucky to be shooting again 2021.
What`s happening in other areas, from the Covid19 infections map most other areas of the country don`t seem as badly effected as the Northwest.

Here in Lincolnshire, clubs are open, although I do not understand the logic in what is happening in the North West compared to watching the news earlier, football matches are now allowed to host 1000 people.

On topic. With people like that about the best thing we can do if we do not want to catch this thing is to stay away from people.

I live with Ovenpaa and we have one person in our "bubble".

We have everything delivered, courier picks up, we go shooting at a pre booked outdoor range which belongs to our local club, only the three of us.
Everything is wiped down before we start shooting, regardless of when someone was there last.

After customer visits the counter is wiped down with antibacterial stuff and we wash our hands so many times a day and use anti gel that I now buy skin friendly soap otherwise our hands go all itchy.
Wear masks and gloves if we have to go to the petrol station and we only use one that takes card at the pump.

Dogs are driven out where there are no other people and walked.

If we find ourselves in an outdoor situation where there are other people, we make sure there is a very generous 2m distance between all present.
This will be the case when David's syndicate starts up in Nov.

We both have annual winter flu jabs for a reason and I simply do not want to chance it.
Until there is a vaccination that will protect us both, it stays this way.

Now, Lincolnshire has been very lucky so far and I reckon it is a population and area thing, not a lot of people and a big county compared to say London.

On the subject of 2021, our Bell Target shooting which takes place in pubs are on hold until Sep 2021.

All of my club ranges are currently limited to six people, if there are already six there you have to leave. As i usually shoot with my brother and my father getting on the range is extremely difficult at this time.

On a related note for target shooting are we covered for "frequency of use" this year? As it's unlikely with first the flooding then the extended range closures and possible further restrictions i will get to use everything the requite three times this year.

Good question, here in Lincolnshire I was told that if I could not sign in I could not prove the above.

How often would you need to show proof of "frequency of use"? I've only ever been asked for it when renewing my FAC.

Then I just copy them my current "firearms usage" page from the NRA website.

Your Club Secretary should be monitoring your frequency of use. You could all ways ask your Clubs Police Liason officer to ask the question of your local firearms department after all that's what he is there for.

A mate asked his FEO about "frequency of use" and the FEO told him not to worry about it, given the circumstances. The current guidance backs this up.
