Indeed. The best SEO and conversion-funnel in the world is useless if basic usability prevents the visitor from accomplishing their goal. It doesn't even need fancy split testing to identify the problems - just the most basic usability testing (watch someone who doesn't know the site trying to accomplish the goal). All that's needed is a prominent button on *every* page, above the fold, that leads directly to the magazine-reader in one click.
