The Gun room blog

#1 Post by Dave 101 »

Due to the amount of shooting related equipment , guns , scopes etc I have accumalated over the years I made the decision when I moved a couple of years ago that the box room would be the gun room and my office .
Having fitted all the cabinets in and decided to build cupboards around them and add extra security to the room todays the day to get working on the project . I decided to to do the room in two halves so for the time being its just the wall with the cabinets on , 90% of the old wallpaper just peeled off dry , great I thought till I found out the paper had been restuck , probably due to the fact it seemed to be coming off elswhere so easy the problem is it looks like its been done with evo stick contact adhesive , so at the moment I am trying to scour it off with boiling hot soapy water
I was hoping to get away without papering this wall as it would be in the cupboard but now Iam thinking it will need an embosed paper to cover up the mess .
Updates to follow .

However in the spirit of your post and totally off topic for this thread. .577" calibre was also deemed to be small bore when they were looking to replace the smooth bore musket with the rifled one.

Nice to have a project and what better than a gun room. If you can borrow a steam stripper it may take the glue off then wash down with sugar soap. Just watch out for blowing plaster if you use a steam stripper.
