200rds of GGG and not a single issue, the very odd one requires slightly more effort, but really no problem.

Very consistent stuff...and less felt recoil than the PPU I was using.

GGG is wonderful in my SLR. ALL of the other ammunition that I have tried is extremely sticky. Including : MEN, RG, R1M1, couple of different types of PPU, Norinco.

Cheapest I've seen is about £56 for 100 - is that right?

Yep thats about right mate, price wise, not cheap, but very good.

I believe GGG have received nothing but praise for the quality of their ammo and I can see why.

I will try and shed some light here bfor you if I can.

I have an LMT .308, I have tried the following ammo, DAG/MEN, RG L2A2, RG L42, GGG, and Raufoss 7.62mm (L17A1)

The only exctraction issues I have is with the DAG/MEN, though it shoots accurately, it does have the odd, hang up, or tight extraction, all the RG ammo, L2A2 and L42 is effortless (apart from thge pull of a heavy spring smile2)

3 shot group RG L42 100 mtrs

The FAL however, is a different animal, The only ammo it will shoot is PMC (no longer imported into the UK) and GGG. It will not extract any RG ammo, I have tried various L2A2 years of Manf, L42 and tracer with no joy

GGG is effortless, (apart from thge pull of a heavy spring smile2  ) and on irons, I can hold a 3 to 4 in group at 100, its only a 13 in BBL on the FAL, so it takes a bit of handling, it doesnt come out very often any more, and is retaired as a plinker nowadays. Pic below, you all know what a FAL looks like.

If you get an LMT I think they are good to shoot anything available GGG probably the most available at the moment, as for the FAL its only GGG.

I'm about to go for one but I'm picking up that a few people have had trouble. Is it a prevalent problem still?
Hi,
I'm just curious as to where these rumors emanate from.
Until recently with the introduction of 10 LMT .308 rifles, and one or two SGC .308 rifles, the only .308 AR 10 type rifles available were Armalites from SGC....and there were apparently only ever 25 of those.
Of those 25, I know the whereabouts of about 8-10, and none of those suffer with extraction problems.

Any issues that may have arisen would have come from shooting Radway Green 7.62, but as this ammo is not really readily available anymore, the issue is somewhat irrelevant.

It could be that because some of the FALs and SLRs are known to be a little sticky/ammo sensitive, people just assume that the AR type will be as well.

Interested to know more about the M14 :good:
