Gaz, I do agree the 2156 is a very fine bullet and keenly priced as well.

Time (ENS) has put a lot of time into working with Bergers and checks and batch sorts every single bullet he shoots including weight and bearing surface length, he may even be measuring the location of the bearing surface in relation to the base, certainly I know others are as I have built the comparator systems for them.

So people are very carefully checking and sorting Berger bullets. On top of that several people are pointing them to improve the BC and given the ragged meplats some are going as far as trimming, drilling, pointing and trimming one more time. Regardless of how well they perform it does make me wonder how far we are away from the 'perfect' jacketed bullet.

Point taken, but how much money did those guys spend on their rifles, I'll wager a hell of a lot more than you or I would and they are usually finely tuned barrels and what not. Also those guys are probably doing all sorts to the bullet to get them to shoot the way they shoot, I don't believe for one minute they are shooting them straight out of the box. I believe it's a sad reflection when a cheapo 100Grn Speer bullet performs better than a so called "premier" bullet, hence I stand by my statement.

I buy for BC and land tolerance hence my use of 155 hybrid
They are not perfect but I would do the following with any bullet I purchase

SORTING
I do bearing surface measure
Then by Weight
Then do point using ShootingShedpointing system

They are expensive but after pointing I estimate a BC close to .500

In f-class everything adds up or down!

ENG, fair enough mate you are using them for competition shooting. I was looking to use them on game and coyotes and personally I wouldn't use them on either. I am looking to a bullet at the very least, to be able to shoot under an inch group straight out of the box, Nosler, Hornady, Barnes, Sierra and hell even some Speer will do that yet to get a so called "premier" bullet to do it, well look at what you have to do to get your rounds to go where you want them to go.

I wouldn't shoot Bergers as a first choice bullet for hunting, better choices to be had!

i use the 68 fb hunting on fox and they perform at well under 1 MOA and the big 7 out to 1200 yards at under 1/2 MOA im sticking with berger as i know they perform

Is that straight out the box or to you tinker with them as well? Hey look guys if the work well for you straight out of the box then fine have at it. Personally for the price they want for them I expect them to preform better straight out of the box than they do. As for the price, I just got through comparing prices there in the UK to the prices here, what you guys pay for Bergers compared to other brands isn't much different to what we are paying dollar wise so I don't think the import thing is that big a factor on prices, they are just overpriced IMHO.

Yep and I can do that with a Nosler or Hornady bullet.

Same again mate, I can do that with a Sierra or a Hornady or a Nosler.

I agree with Spud the Berger in .284 is a very good albeit expensive choice, there are arguably a couple of better choices out there one being the JLK's however the JLK is a VLD and I prefer Hybrids in my 7mm.

Being quite honest, the cost of running my 7mm SAUM Wildcat is prohibitively expensive and the rifle has been slung in one of the cabinets awaiting divine inspiration. These days I much prefer lighter rifles and we have rifles in the house that are at least as accurate as my 7mmC
