Tikka all the way for me, at the moment I have 2 of the little devils, both the early types and both 590's these had the small loading/ejection port. When they were factory spec they were brilliant rifles, very accurate and with a nice adjustable trigger. These rifles were built on 2 action lengths, the 5 series were for rounds up to 308 win length, 6 series for the long stuff and magnums.
The only down side I always think is the lack of go faster goodies that are available over here, but even this seems to have got better.
As for the rem, just think of it as buying an action that you then screw good bits on to, this was all well and good until the importers slammed the price through the ceiling
