Happy about what? If you have the Leverevolution bullets, load 'em and shoot 'em! Section 1 for the purposes you seek...
But, a cost effective alternative, 405gn RNFP cast, with 30gns of H4198 makes a lovely soft shooting and accurate "Cowboy Load". Good for 300yds from the SBL short barrel I reckon.

No I don't have the Leverevolution rounds yet, but was wondering whether I could buy them for target shooting, to save me reloading all the time. I've currently got a box of 405gr RNFP (great minds think alike), and some D060 (used to be Accurate 5744). Going to try a couple of different loads and see how they work.

Bit of a thread revival, but actually managed to get some time at Bisley at the weekend to use this. I was on Short Siberia at 100yrds, using relatively lightly loaded hand loads. First impressions were really good - not too bad a recoil, and surprisingly accurate withe the ghost ring site. In fact shooting sat down with my elbows on the table it was almost as accurate as some of teh guys using 223s and scopes. Overall a lovely piece of kit and I look foward to using it again.
Not broached the subject of Leverevolution rouds for target with my FEO yet, but will do when I next speak with him.

WHY does your FEO need to be consulted over the rounds?
As SimG stated, they ARE Section 1 IF used in a tubular magazine rifle - so as long as you have permission for the caliber in question you can buy the ammo...

The reason I was told that I'd need to consult them was because I only shoot target, I don't hunt, and with them being softpoint there might be an issue, and to clarify with the FEO. Unfortunately they are the only 45-70 available as ready made rounds, so while I do plan to reload it would be good to be able to get some if needed.

Para 3.16 of the 2002 Home Office guidance to police outlines this.
All the FEO will do will be look at exactly the same document as I've highlighted above...
