Nice! I've bought myself a FAL, there's nothing plain about it!

I had a mint M1 Garand for about 3 months before the ban and loved it!
(I also loved my Colt Mod 1911, Smith and Wesson Mod 39 and Smith and Wesson Mod 66, sigh!)

Cool. Better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all...

I must get myself to some Eastern European country where I can shoot all of this and more!

Brand new COLT AR15A2 Sporter II - bought down in Lincolnshire. Fitted a Colt 3x scope for part of the time I had it

My first gun?
An Ivor Johnson M1 Carbine. Lovely wood stock with a metal handguard.
Still have the Lee Loader and most of the brass...as factory ammo was non-existant

Miss them both - but at least such knee-jerk laws have kept such guns out of the hands of criminals and inner city yoofs, innit bruv!!!

If we could revisit that time again, my military history shopping list would be huge. I'd need at least 1 more gun cabinet. Think I'd probably go for the following in semi-auto...

1) Lewis Gun
2) MG34
3) MP38
4) FG42 (1st model)
5) MP44
6) Bren Gun
7) MG15

Not the best thing in the world but by removing a screw and a bit of aluminium bar it could be set to full auto! (not that I ever did such a thing!).

Sold it and bought a Ruger Mini-14 (horrible thing!) and was saving up for a very nice Heckler & Koch HK93 when the ban came in :bad:
I also had an AR10 and was well impressed with it, also had a Thompson 1928A1 and an M14
