Apart from the 300 Blackout is not going to reach out to 1000 yards...

Custom actions will be truer, inherently more accurate and more capable of handling increased pressures, plus you can look at three lug actions instead of the numerous 700 clones.

I have some sonic loads that I'll be trying out next trip to the range (not at 1000yds though!) 17.2gr of Hodgdon 110 with a Nosler CC 168gr, should be around 1900+fps.

I wasn't suggesting it as a calibre for long distance shooting only that (for me) the 223 was a PITA to load due to the small bullet size and that switching to the 300 Blackout with 30cal bullets made my reloading life a lot easier :good:

+1 it does shoot, and its in my cabinet now troutslapping, worst thing is that the boy has his beady eye on it, he has actually used it more than me.
It will never be a target rifle but will be perfect for dropping ETR's out to 400, which it exactly why I have it.
