We have a POSP 8x42 on both our Mosin Nagant M1891 and "Shush Major", our moderated P14. The reticle with its multiple aiming points and windage offsets makes shooting a doddle.

Ah...the 1pn21.They are a very good scope but designed more for shooting "live" targets than target shooting if you know what I mean.

On the POSP 8x42 you can use the elevation turret settings as a BDC for 150gr 54r, if it is initially zeroed on the right setting.

I seem to remember there were problems 'calibrating' it as you use the drum on the right to set not only the magnification but also the distance so 6X at 600 and 9x at 900 then on the stadia further out and getting these right took some fiddling around.

Fully functioning and converted to run on two rechargeable AA batteries.Its pretty good on a moonless night as long as the stars are bright, in complete darkness its a no-go.In an urban enviroment with a few street lights its brilliant and considering its only a Gen1,albeit military, it is better than some commercial Gen2s i've seen, i think i dropped lucky and got one with a good image tube as there is virtually no speckling you usually get with these scopes.I would like to get a 1pn58 to go with it.I also have a Russian PK-A red dot knocking about, will get a pic of it up when i get chance.

Very cool rifles and superb Russian optics, I had the honour of putting a few rounds through LeighC's 7.62x54R Dragunov a while back, super rifles, great fun to shoot!

My current two...next on the list, a Sec1 12 bore and then I really fancy a .22 Martini action just for fun...
AIA in 7.62x51 10/22 in ...guess you know that already!!

BTW: I am really proud of how well my eldest shot (this was her first outing to the range) but I was even prouder of how well behaved and sensible she was when handling a firearm for the first time - I wish more youngsters got to do this as it would remove the 'mystery' around guns and shooting.
