I haver had lots of dealings with Oleg - never had any problems at all.

If he has it in stock you are good to go - if not, the Russians can be slow, but that's not really Olegs fault.

Buy the AKM, some of breachers Bakelite mags and a roll of blue insulation tape (Russian Izolenta if you can get it), tape two mags together and you're ready to rock and roll in a Chechnya stylee!!! bangbang

Romanian AKMs, god but that brings back memories. The balkans were awash with them and they were truly s***. The roughest AKs i've ever seen and that includes those we found in Iraq.

Ah yes the Balkans, a fair few did end up there. As a commodity the AK is king when it comes to weapons:

I can vouch for the Romanian AKM, had mine since Feb and have put thousands of rounds through it already, ranging from milsurp to S & B and my home loads. I even bought a Krebs "hold open" safety lever which I had parkerized to the same finish just to stop people at the range moaning cos the bolt wasn't held open.

I like the Romanian AKs that much I have sold my Saiga MK/AK-104 and aquired an AKMS underfolder to go with the AKM :)

But I bet they went bang every time and would still seriously f@#k your day up, you only have to look at some of the rusty never cleaned early production AKs that Somali pirates use to see that they just keep going.

It's just a shame we have to pull that lever every time it goes bang !
