This is my Remmi .308.

It’s in an AI folding stock. I changed the trigger for a Timney, which made a great deal of difference. I then had the barrel changed for a 30”, with interrupted fluting, from Dolphin , as well as the bolt knob and monopod. The scope is a Razor HD, and the moderator is a Hardy, both from Rifle Craft.

Charlotte the flyer wrote:It can be good to buy one that someone has tricked up and is looking to sell. Mine was £1100 all done bought off someone who was giving up full bore shooting. The glass was v basic but it's got a Sako muzzle brake, Timney trigger, 20moa rail.
Looks very nice indeed! if you are willing to state, what would be the cost of something like that?

Well, I usually prefer not to think about things like that if possible, but I bought the Remmi and stock second hand from a member on this forum. I can’t remember exactly how much, but I think it was about £1,100. Soon after, I bought a new trigger for £50 and the mod for £260. Also, bipod, £75 and 2 * 10 round magazines - £120. Let’s not forget the AIM bag, £132. A while later, I bought the scope and rings £1,600 + £200. Then fairly recently I had a new barrel, which by the time you add screw cutting, thread protector, fluting and Duracote, comes to about £1,000, bolt knob, £60. Monopod - £260, I think,Basically, rather than splash out all in one go, I bought it over several months.

Very nice

I am having similar thoughts at the moment and think a genuine AI is an awful lot of money for something that will be a lot lot better than me as oppose to something better than me.

I think the Remi 700 is a good bet.

I like the new AICS stock as well and they do those for a Remi 700

In fact I had just decided on an AR for modularity and legoability but it looks like a remington 700 is pretty cool for that as well.

I wonder if they will do an MSR stock for it?

Oh god.....that's now two rifles I need to get plus a 303 and STG44 in .22lr and a...............divorce probably lol!

I've got a semi custom remmy 700 in an AI AX stock, new it's cost me about £1900 with the trigger upgraded and a few other bits done..

But I wouldn't spend more than £2500 on a remmy of any kind, I've had all sorts of issues with mine, dispute it being a brand new rifle. For £2700 you can get the basic spec AI AT, that's a rifle that will outshoot and outlast any remington! (I've got both mwha)
