Seriously though, someone needs to let the PCC know that sportsmen/women are tax payers as well and probably don't use a quarter of what they pay their taxes for. Badger, do hope that you and the other 35,000 FAC and SGC holders will be letting the PCC know your feelings on this. Might be interesting to start a petition and see how many signatures that gets now that it affects some of those in the "not interested in shooting pistol" crowd.

£200 pounds sounds reasonable to me £40 a year people spend that a week on cigarettes or beer. The only issue I have is if it suddenly becomes £300 then £400 then £500. I am not going to get excited about £200. I can understand some one on the pension or some one who is unemployed with a family to feed. But £200 is small change as far as I am concerned.
When this pistol ban gets over turned you are all going to rush out and spend thousands on hand guns so what's the problem.

That's the issue though, what about those to whom it is a big issue?

I have helped 3 students so far go through the application process, 2 of them for a fact would not have been able to fork out £200 for a Certificate

dave_303. Ignore him mate, he only posts to wind folks up. I now have him on ignore because he is just a sad old man with nothing really to say and nothing to give or add to the shooting community. He's really not worth the time replying to. Saying that though, he really has mastered whining a lot.

Yes it could be a problem for some folk and I hope they don't raise it to £200 but if they do we will have to stump up or give up.

What is the law in the UK with regards to firearms? Who can have one and which one?

Or we can fight it, I know I will, we simply can't give in. A rise like this will put out the poorest, youngest and most vulnerable from the sport, not exactly an all encompassing hobby is it then?

The public/Government/media want us regulated, they can pay for the licensing!

I am sick and tired of this bending over regarding the price of our certs and the way the local police forces are making the rules up as they go along. If we made the rules up as we saw fit we would be in jail

Overhaul the whole system, streamline it, it would then cost a lot less to run.

It does not exactly need a big IQ to figure that one out.
