Perchance does this mean you intend to make the wee detent in quantity then? How about one piece firing pins too?? razzovenpaa wrote:I read about this just the other day in my quest to know more about the Marlin and ordered 100 1/8" eclips 'just in case' The postage cost nigh on as much as the clips....

I had not thought about making the detent as I had not heard first hand of any failing however I am building a one piece firing pin for our test rifle.

1 piece firing pin is a good thing, I love mine, slightly lightens the cycling action as you close it up and 1 less thing to fail
Re: Marlin 1894C Lifter wont lift.
A variety of spring followers in different material is my next experiment
Re: Marlin 1894C Lifter wont lift.
A friend has made a few one piece firing pins from a HS Drill.
Must talk nice to him.
Had always thought on buying a small Lathe, but getting the knowledge to use it is the problem. Machine Mart do a range of reasonable priced small lathes.
Although, I once made a pistol guide rod by clamping a bolt in a drill and turning it down with files and emery.
