Just out of interest how many posters on here have compared the ChargeMaster along side the Target Master, there is no "faffing" about with the Target Master.

When I did my comparision the Target Master was faster and more consistent and I passed on the Charge Master as a consequence.

The Charge Master is indeed good kit but I found the Target Master to be better when I compared them side by side.

I kept my Pact dispenser as it was just as quick and accurate as the Charge Master but I find the separate electronic scale handy.

My experience is with the Chargemaster. I've had mine 5+ years. It's been excellent. if it died tomorrow, I'd buy another without hesitation.

The Target Master is a superb bit of kit that I would recommend 100% to anyone.

The convenience of the Hornady L&L dispenser is that it takes seconds to set up and takes up very little bench space, it throws about 95% of charges dead on with the other 5% being .1 over. If I hadn't got it at a very good price I certainly wouldn't have paid the price for an RCBS Chargemaster, the Target Master, a set of 5-0-5 scales and a Lee Perfect powder measure make an excellent system at a very affordable price.

Looks like a good bit of kit, what beam balance would you recommend with it as I only have the sh#te Lee one at the moment?

RCBS 5-0-5 every time

Any scale that is dampened will do, so basically any one but the Lee.

I use an RCBS 5-0-2 down here and a Ohaus M2 in Scotland, the Ohaus is like the RCBS 10-10. Both were bought second hand and the 5-0-2 was breathed upon (tuned and calibrated) by Mr Target Master himself for me.

When I bought my target master I also bought a second hand Hornady scale off him that he had in stock.
I'm still using this set up with a RCBS powder measure. I also bought a mini web cam off him at the same time the whole thing is set up to display the beam on a lap top. Check you tube he has a video on there showing the set up.

Is there any real advantage for the Target Master over using a bog standard "hand tricker", together with a beam scale and Lee dippers?

That was my preferred method before I got a Chargemaster.

It is as fast or faster a than both the Chargemaster and hand trickling, not that it is a race, it is more accurate, more consistent, costs less, and is made in the UK.

How can it be more accurate when the Chargemaster will throw consistent charges time after time? Only time I find the CM throws an under charge is if I jog the bench during the very final stages when the CM is dispensing one kernel at a time, but that would be the same with any weighing system. I have modified the dispensing tube of the CM (The Shooting Shed also have a mod) so it accurately dispenses single kernels of most powders - certainly works superbly with N140 and N165 - and weighs exactly and consistently to .1 of a grain which is as good as any affordable beam scale. As a previous poster said, if it failed tomorrow I'd buy another right away. It is expensive but it is a reliable piece of kit that does exactly as it says on the tin.
