Just had a reply from the BASC press office. Oddly enough, even though the police claim they've "briefed" BASC, their man says they have "no specific details" of what's going on.

Sounds awfully like someone emailed them a link to a press release and left it at that...

I am guessing the "decisions" relate to FAC holders with "domestic" allegations.

GMP to review 11,000 licences.

Does anybody live in the GMP (Manchester) area?

Ok, you two moaning minnies have got me to say something. I'll still not reveal the full details but here it goes. I had my visit with my dad (who also has a cert). They said it was fine, things dragged on, I didn't get my cert back, was told it was live. However due to having a certain medical condition and home office guidelines changing, they said they had to talk to nearest family members (mum and dad) to say, you'd let us know if their was a problem. My dad talked to them over the phone to explain he could not see them in person and eventually the assistant manager talked to him and that was ok. Then he saw my mother and well things got tense there (she is actually not that keen on me and my dad having certs and guns but she took at exception to what they were doing here). End result, got my cert and next renewal will make sure they have this talk with my mum and dad at the visit to tick their boxes. Are you two happy now? That is all I can say without giving too much really sensitive stuff away.

The key word is allegations, we have allegations until investigations, etc bring up the truth of the matter showing said allegations are substantiated.

Sixshot... That story wasnt worth the wait...
Couldnt you have made something up so it was a bit more exciting? :)
Something like you used to be a bank robber and the FEO visit was arranged whilst on a job?

Who do you think I am, Terry Pratchett? Maybe I could have a story where I fall down a rabbit hole into an alice in wonderland type place where All Firearms departments are just too and the laws are just (we have pistols, centrefire semis and no knee jerk reactions) or would that be too unbelievable?
