Depressing, but blood also boils...half of it doesn't make sense-ban semiautos and next reduce mags capacity,in what?ban.50 calibre but why, never ever was single incident here or even in USA?no rights to fight police decisions?just plain nonsense, why taxpayer money is wasted again and again. Do they watch the news, any news-or just living in the bubble of self-plesure constantly? Time to create proper resistance and send them "bucket of sunshine"....

Gaz, do you know if Firearms UK are going to formulate any sort of response to this shopping list?

It is like the proverb about the frog and the skorpion , they do it because thats what they do!
They will never stop until all bow down before them and submit, resistance is futile!!
Maybe that's the answer, as they keep saying "Say NO to bullies."

If they ARE serious then it is maybe a sign of what is coming VERY soon and therefore every reason NOT to comply some would say.

Continuity ACPO: Playing at police instead of being police. I thought it was illegal to call yourserlf police unless you were a band from the 80's?? Problem with ACPO, they have NO competition because they ARE the government in fancy dress.

I don't know, but I can ask them - then again, I know their people do read this forum.

BASC, the NRA and the Countryside Alliance are all aware of it. I don't think I'm betraying any confidences to say that BASC were taken aback by the contents of the document.

Some of the proposals actually have some merit and deserve further investigation and discussion, such as for example;
a)Taking the day to day administration of firearms out of the hands of the police
b)Extending the life of a certificate.
c)Better checks on RFDs and their servants.
d) Remove expanding rifle ammunition and bullets from section 5.

Other proposals are totally without merit and are merely vindictive measures designed to inflict severe harm or even absolutely annihilate target shooting. The NRA and NSRA who both have absolutely abysmal records with regard to supporting shooting sports in living memory need to man up, grow a set of balls and unite with the other shooting organisations and tell them where to shove their proposals.

Death by a thousand cuts?
First we lost practical rifle and self loading centrefire rifles. Then we lost pistols. Now its the turn of gallery rifle, target shotgun and fifty calibres. We even have an attack on miniature rifle ranges. How long before all centrefire rifles and that would just leave shotguns and single shot .22 rifles. Oh I forgot they have already thought of them with the attack on miniature rifle ranges.

I thought the checks for new RFD's were already in line with FAC applications, when we moved to Lincolnshire we were advised SB (Special Branch) checks would be carried out and we did have the Counter Terrorism chaps pop round for a chat however this could have been as much a part of Op Solitaire as anything.

To be honest Ovenpaa I would have thought that checks on RFDs would have already been quite stringent but obviously not in some force areas from what can be gathered from the wish list.

Isn't that illegal, against our human rights and against our very own constitution?
