Are they normal rates for clubs? 2 hours per session, twice a month for a year works out at £795. Seems a bit pricey. Would this be people's primary club or is this just an alternate place to shoot?

Personally I'd only use facilities like that for getting an accurate zero or possibly some load development so it would be a one off visit of a few hours max. I'd hope you wouldn't have to be a member to do that!

Normal rate is around £30 per hour.
Six visits a year makes club membership viable.
An hours booking would see a lot of ammo being used as there's no down time lost.
Could zero check & load test two or three guns....or more with prior planning.
Also, no lost time & wasted fuel/time attending cancelled/rained-fogged off/double booked shoots.

I believe Stead Hall is a lot cheaper (£10/hour?) but they've not replied to any of my emails

Blimey... £30/hour's twice as bad! As a comparison, my local club only charges £170/annum with no session fees or £100/annum if you're in the military or a student/senior. It seems really cheap by comparison. How much do others pay?

I can't really see the point of shooting full bore at short range other than for load development or similar or if you just need to bang a few rounds off to justify keeping your rifle!
I've used the 100 metre tunnel range at Calton Moor a few times. £10 an hour (think it might be £15 now).

The advantage of an indoor range is great for load development and poor weather shooting but @ £30/hr that sounds excessive as does the £15/hr for club members
sure it would be fully attended at lower rates

What about for shooters who have a home range of 25m, but need to practice at 50m prior to a comp.?
(as the comp. has 50m stages)
