Oooooh, this looks good... and there are some quite reasonable flights from Mancunia to Helsinki too...

Looking into lodgings in the area.
One possible option is Marshall Mannerheim's hunting cabin! (It's rented out as a bunk-house/lodge)

There is also the nearby SA-KAUPPA store at Hämeenlinna (The Finnish Army Disposal Shop)
New unissued M91 & M28 stocks, spare parts a plenty & all sorts of other Finnish goodies

Pennies may not be at as big a risk as I initially thought.
The organisers e-mailed me about an hour ago:

FREE ACCOMMODATION AT THE RANGE (badgers sleep in the wheelie bin shed around the back)

That'll save about 50-70Euro per night, per human....more to spend on horrible tacky Finnish army kit at the SA-Kauppa & the Helsinki flea market.

Cancelled!!

They needed 12 bookings....they only had 2...so no trip.
Vety annoying. Probably due to not being on a weekend.

However, now have the M91 handbook from 1940.
Just needs some translation in parts...

Ouch ... Bummer ...
Mid week is indeed very difficult for most people . Even at W-E, unfortunatly I know all too well how tricky & stressful it can be to get a bunch of people together to commit in order to organise something.

I really loved the idea of that Finnish trip, in deep winter it would have been even better .
Maybe we could try to get 12 UK shooters together first and then approach the organisators to ask them to put such W-E together for us ?

Enough notice and I would be interested if there was another attempt.
