Why bother trying to reason with him. Why bother even exchanging views with the clown.

I think because if no one exchanges views or attempts to reason with him on social media media it would appear that he is right in what he says and his views on shooters that have "military" rifles or whatever would be the only ones that the wider public would see.

Where would we be if no one challenged or questioned the changes the EU was/is proposing regarding firearms???.It's easy to say "why bother" but if people do bother and take the time to question others it can have a big impact on how we as shooters are perceived.

Correct. It's about being seen to give an opposing view. He claims to speak for all UK shooters, yet a sizeable group do disagree with his stance on black rifles, etc.

If there is no one challenging him, yet he gets a dozen or so 'likes', and a couple of people stating thier support for his words, then it looks like UK shooters do agree with him. I've come across a few on the firing point that believe that the only firearms that we should be allowed are single shot target rifles. Funnily enough they shot both small bore and full bore TR.

As long as all shooting is carried out in a safe manner in line with all range and safety orders, I fully believe shooting at bits of paper or steel should be about the fun and enjoyment, regardless what you choose to shoot in order to achieve that aim. If TR floats your boat then crack on. If you want to blat away at bits of steel with a drum mag fitted, crack on. As long as all reasonable safety precautions have been taken on a suitable range, crack on.

Yardley is becoming toxic within the shooting industry. He has alone managed to dissassemble his previous good reputation. Once it reaches the point that he fully realises that, watch him really implode! I always thought the bloke was a nob. Dealt with him during the '97 lobbying, he hid him self well from the majority of people...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he 'defected' to GCN the way he's going! :o

I used to follow him on Facebook - the sad thing is that he's very knowledgeable about shotgunning and puts his advice across well - its just all the political stuff that he keeps spouting on about that puts me off him.
