Some who enjoys owning, collecting, appreciating and using fine firearms.

Does he mean that vexillophiles, philatelists, tegestologists and the like are cause for concern too?
...he may have meant Chief Constables.

Everyone knows that it's just the SGC/FAC holders that add to the pesky statistics for illegal firearms usage.
WHY would a Chief Constable need to have an array of lethal weapons for policing the most unarmed population in Europe?

Police in England & Wales killed 15 people last year with vehicles = so the obvious problem lies with the lack of pedestrian awareness!
No way could the Police Advanced Driving courses be at fault = it MUST be the pedestrians. Has to be...we need more restrictions/tests.
Pedestrian Proficiency Scheme, anyone??

I'm happy to administer it: £100 per 5 year permit, re-test if you need glasses or fall on ice, instant disqualification if you cross the road when the green man isn't flashing, extra permit needed for walking around after dark or in rural areas.
IT'S 100% SAFETY orientated! WHO could possibly object if one life will be saved?
(Off to price up some yachts & country estates on-line...anyone after a minimum wage job/Sports Direct battery hen working conditions?)

This has to be the most telling comment on here for some time. clapclap clapclap clapclap :good: :good: :good:

Public are disarmed, terrorists are not that much of a threat and will probbaly blow themselves up anyway - so WHY are they so heavily armed and poorly trained?

Maybe we could include golfers in all of this..and parents, I mean who needs more than one child!

Public should be more worried about police trained shooters, was talking with a member of my club the other week who has some involvement with police sniper training and during the conversation it came out that all they had to achieve was a 2" group at 50yds to qualify.

What sort of idiotic statement is this? Just makes depressing reading.
That is almost exactly a quote from rowan atkinson in the thin blue line....the first question on the application form should be, do you want to own a gun, if the answer is yes....refuse

No need for attitude.....MiLiCer knows what he's talking about, police snipers have to achieve much better than 2" at 50yds!.

Obviously not in this case, as the conversation was with a current police sniper team leader who had failed someone the day before for not achieving the required standard. When asked what the standard was it was stated as 2" at 50 yds
