AR15 seating problem?

Don't most manuals caution against single-loading rounds into the chambers of ARs? The floating firing pin means that there exists the possibility, however remote, of a slam fire.

Single load one and then load by letting the bolt fly. Eject both rounds without firing and then look at the primer.

Both will have a small indent, and both methods will slam the firing pin in to the primer, doing it the fast way might actually cause more energy to be transferred where as single feeding you might close the bolt slower.

Dont forget all of the force chambering the round comes from the return spring. This has to strip a round from the mag, chamber it, seat it and lock the bolt.

That is a lot to do for the spring so it is imperative it is let fly under its own steam. This is why most (if not all) of the CSR boys and girls we shoot with full length re-size.

It was always ever so with anything I have used with a return spring that fires closed bolt.

Also, make sure there is some on your cam pin etc. You should not need to tap forward on the cocking handle (if its fixed) or the FA with a clean, cold rifle. It should seat and lock nicely without any help.

This and for many one AR is not enough, so ammo will have to fit at least two rifles.

This, however if you ride the charging handle home and therefore slow the bolt so it doesn't lock a little tap on the FA or handle should lock it in place. If it doesn't there is something wrong and you should check it straight away.
