Cataract surgery for shooters

Halos, yup got them. At night it is rather frustrating, halos and lights criss crossing. I had standard lenses put in.
I would rather not drive the car if I can avoid it.

I do not think there is a sure fire way ahead with cataract surgery, we all react/heal differently after surgery.

I didn't think that standard implants cause halos. I know some people claim they can see the edge of their implant but I don't get any of that.

Yup, got the edge as well.

However having said all that, my vision is so much better now and I do not regret having the ops.

I had my right eye done on 8th Dec, distance lens, and got 1 small floater and can occasionally see the edge of implant when moving eyes to left. I know its early days but does the edge get resolved ?

Also I now find my left eye vision looks worst than it was before, must be the brain trying to compensate. Not driven at night yet so don't know about halo`s.

Any idea when its best to do Practical Shotgun, doc said 4-6 weeks but I think that's too early.

Floaters can be caused by detritus left over from the operation, or it can be a posterior vitreous detachment (which I had in both eyes before the op). You do get used to them over time.

My right eye vision is excellent now. It was set for -1D ( i.e. 1m) and I can see many things clearly: my PC screen, car dashboard, scope turrets, rifle foresight ...

Targets at 300 yards are slightly blurred but easy to shoot with iron sights, while everything through a scope is crystal clear.

My left (dominant) eye is being done next month at -0.25D for distance. The surgeon suggested waiting 2 weeks before shooting fullbore but I gave it a month just to be certain.
