Anyway, there's some interesting stuff in there regarding the EU gun grab, Policing and Crime Bill etc etc. Unfortuantely my computer hates this website and won't let me attach the file (Word document). What are they saying about rimfire semis? Extension as in exemption? Even they seem unsure? Especially regarding pistol ammo in rifles that expands.

Yes I took that to mean that they thought the lastest from the EU committee was that rimfires were exempt from the directive. To be fair to them, its not for them to make a determination on the expanding pistol bullets until after the legislation is passed at which time they'll (hopefully) get some Home Office guidance.

I do wonder what the two red sections covered...

So playing it safe and isn't that what was in the last amendment Vicky ford sent out anyway that rimfires were exempt and that was pretty much the final thing? They would fail the plain english campaigns test then .

Can't believe that they are retendering for NFLMS: "NFLMS has been deemed a legacy system".

It's only been in use for 10 years so calling it legacy is a bit of a push - 5 years ago I was working on C&C systems from the 80s that are still (today) in use and until very recently any fixed penalty notice (vehicle or disorder) anywhere in England or Wales was processed using a system that is positively geriatric.....

Wouldn't it be more honest for the Police/ Government/ Working Group to admit NFLMS has been deemed unfit for purpose and a complete waste of time, money and effort over the last 20ish years and it would be a good idea to try a claw back some of the many millions spent on software that could have been better written by a school child sitting GCSE Computing?

They should just get rid of it totally! The gun registrar was scrapped in Canada and it hasn't turned into blood on the streets!
